Travel Dairies- Sultanpur National Park

TRAVEL DAIRIES
Sultanpur National Park

Sultanpur National Park” formerly known as “Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary” is approx. 40-50 minutes run from Gurgaon. It is the home of migratory birds, that’s what makes us think to capture them in our cameras. We (I and Abhay Bansal-Photographer) were very excited for our first ever Bird Photography trip. Though it is not well maintained, but birds are birds. They live in habitat whatever suits them. So you would definitely find birds there.
Commuting to Sultanpur National Park is not a husky task. If you have your own ride, then just install navigation app and quickly reach at the destination. They have maintained quite a space for parking your vehicles. Otherwise, you can board the paid cabs and reach the desired location easily. I don’t mind if you would hire a helicopter, but the problem is Sultanpur National Park don’t have helipad for you :).

Sultanpur National Park also has arrangement to suffice your appetite. And It also has a time limitation, opening time 7:00 AM and closing time 4:00 PM. And yes they do have sufficient space  for accommodation if you are planning for long trip. It happens sometimes, you want to click a specific bird at specific hour of the day and you would not get on the same day. Accommodation  charges are quite nominal. Best thing about Sultanpur National Park is, if you are planning for a picnic and you are a bird lover, then it is the best place to hang out here. Away from hustle and bustle of the city. Sultanpur is home of migratory birds and some resident species are also available to welcome you. If you want to see birds clearly then you must bring binoculars along.
Finally, we started off our trip, Travelled through the busy roads of Gurgaon, crossing Bus Stand, Basai and Dhankot, and we reached Sultanpur National Park. Though we used to enjoy laziness on weekends, we reached the earliest hour of day, 8.30 AM. I know this is not the early hour of day, but for us it is :), especially at weekends. After all, doing things which soothe your mind, at the start of the day, makes your whole day. We love photography and travelling. What else could one expect in the chilly morning (temperature at 7 degrees Celsius), if you have a great plan of photography and that too in a cool and calm place under the hood of beautiful nature. We didn’t even not
ice, when we reached Sultanpur National Park, having humorous talks and listening to music. We parked our car and paid the entry fee which was merely Rs.5 per person and Rs.25 for the Camera. Guess what, there was group of school children with their guardians, came to visit the place as an educational trip. So the quacking of ducks combined with loud noise of children starts our tour to Sultanpur Park.

Indian Deer
As we entered in the park, we got intrigued by herd of deer. Sooner we end up occupied ourselves in capturing the perfect shot of deer. And finally got the picture. Well you can see the picture, isn’t good? Capturing a perfect shot needs patience and continuous shot of camera really helps a lot. Thanks a ton to those guys who put the idea of putting continuous shot in camera. Obviously, talking pictures need no descriptions.

Blue Throat Bird
After finishing with deer, our sight got caught up with this beauty of life. Can you see the colors on the neck of little Bird. It’s quite difficult to capture a bird with camera, knowing the fact that a tiny sound can make them fly away. See the beauty of technology, we can capture these little ones in our cameras without getting near. Isn’t this little guy beautiful? When our one hour got spend we didn’t notice. We were so busy in framing these beauties like we were under some spell. Perhaps we were enjoying that place. We were feeling relaxed as if we are in absolutely different place.

Indian Parrot
We did frame this stunning parrot in our gears. There are so many birds with their interesting looks invited us to photograph them.

Red Flower
Even a tiny flower which doesn’t seem so good with naked eye can show its beauty with the eye of camera, that’s the beauty of technology. Clicking those kind of beauties and storing them for the sake of beauty that resides everywhere is like feeling like you got to see life every single moment every day.

Random Leaves
Well if you see around, you may see lifeless things around, but fact is if you review them closely you could see the beauty spread around. Like we captured the lifeless leaves with a lovely background. Maybe sometimes a thing wouldn’t be beautiful but with combination of few things could make a difference. That’s how nature beautifies the lifeless things and a camera in your hands with good skills can do the magic.

A Stray Dog
You would be mesmerized by this picture. You might see the dog with normal eye and say that’s not worth to click. And guess what, we tried to click it and see the difference. If you see the picture, you would feel a dog might rule the scene like a lion of jungle. See the innocence that is seen in the eyes of this friend. You would not believe that when we tried to frame this creature, he actually feel like hero when we are clicking him and gave this pose after being frightened at first sight. That’s how camera beautify the things around.

Beauty that can’t be seen with naked eye, can be seen with the eyes of camera can make a real difference. That’s why I love photography.  Photography can zoom in those things which are impossible to imagine with naked eye. In the end, I want to say to all those who love photography and committed to photography, Good Luck Guys!!. Photography is all together is different experience and may even bring a different aspect to see life around.
